Third annual sociological research “Decentralization and reformation of local self-government”

Over November-December 2017, the KIIS together with the Center “Socialni indykatory” conducted the third wave of the all-Ukrainian research “Decentralization and reformation of local governing” (the first and second waves were conducted in 2015 and 2016) by the request of the Council of Europe.

In particular, 2,040 respondents, representing the adult population of Ukraine, were interviewed as well as 2,000 respondents living in the united territorial communities (OTGs) who had completed the association process in 2015-2016 (the survey was conducted also among the inhabitants of the settlements, which became the centers of the communities, and among the inhabitants of settlements, which did not become the centers of the community). The study examined thoughts and views on support and expectations from the decentralization reform, attitudes to the association of territorial communities, the dynamics of the quality of community service delivery, and so on.
