Electoral intentions of voters in Ukraine

KIIS conducted nationwide poll during the period of April 12–24, 2012. 2040 respondents were interviewed; the survey covered all regions of Ukraine (including the city of Kyiv) and Crimea; sample was random and representative for the population of Ukraine aged 18 yearsand older.

The survey began before the united party list of UNC "Batkivschyna" and the Party "Front of Changes" was announced; and therefore it was carried out with the parties list, containing both these political forces.

Statistical sampling error (with a probability of 0.95 and a design-effect 1.5) does not exceed 3.3% for index close to 50%, 2,8% — index close to 25%, 2,0% — index close to 10%, 1 4% — index close to 5%.

If parliamentary elections were held in the second half of April, according to the survey results 61% of voters of Ukraine would participate in the elections; and the following parties would get the majority of votes:

  • Party of Regions (M. Azarov) — 19.1%; Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Batkivschyna" (I. Tymoshenko) — 10.7%;
  • The following places are held by: the Party "Front of Changes" (A. Yatsenyuk) — 7.3%, the Party "UDAR" headed by Vitaliy Klychko — 6.7%, Communist Party of Ukraine (P. Symonenko) — 5.7%, Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Svoboda" (O. Tiagnybok) — 3.0%, the Party "Ukraine, go ahead!" headed by Natalie Korolevska — 2.8%;
  • Two political forces more had at least one per cent of supporters: Natoinal Party of Ukraine (V. Lytvyn) — 1.2%, "Civil Position" (A. Hrytsenko) — 1.1%. 
If the elections of the President of Ukraine were held in the second half of April, according to the results of the survey the following candidates would get the majority of votes:
  • Yanukovych, Viktor — 19.3%
  • Tymoshenko, Iuliia — 10.8%
  • Klychko, Vitaliy — 7.7%
  • Yatseniuk, Arseniy — 7.5%
  • Symonenko, Petro — 4.8%
  • Tigipko, Sergii — 3.4%
  • Korolevska, Natalie — 2.8%
  • Hrytsenko, Anatoliy — 2.1%
  • Tiagnibok, Oleg — 1.6%
