Probably most of those who plan to greet women with March 8, have already bought gifts. However, if someone still has not decided what to present - our press release can give a hint. For 10 years in a row, KIIS has been asking women what they would like to receive as a gift on March 8. In addition, we are interested in men's plans and see that they take into account our advices.

According to the results of the survey on gifts on March 8, the first 6 gifts that women would like to receive are flowers, care and attention, romantic trip, jewelry, romantic dinner, and perfumes.

Compared to 2019, the number of women who would like to receive a romantic trip from men has almost tripled (from 5% to 13%) and twice as many men plan to offer it (it was 5%, it became 10%), however, the number of those wishing flowers as a gift decreased slightly (from 23% to 18%).

The biggest discrepancy between women's desires and men's plans (potential "disappointments") by two points is the care, attention and kind word that 16% of women want to receive and would like to provide only 8% of men, and the romantic trip that 13% of women want to go on, and only 10% of men plan to make just such a gift.

During February 5-7, 2021, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted its own regular all-Ukrainian public opinion poll "Omnibus". By the method of computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) based on a random sample of mobile telephone numbers 2005 respondents were interviewed living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). The sample is representative for the adult population (18 years and older) of Ukraine. The sample does not include territories that are temporarily not controlled by the authorities of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In Luhansk and Donetsk regions, the survey was conducted only in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

Women and men were asked slightly different questions, the indicators are calculated separately for women and men, so the array for each of the gender groups is approximately 1000 respondents.

Statistical error of the sample of about 1000 respondents (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.1) does not exceed: 3.4% for indicators close to 50%, 3% for indicators close to 25%, 2.1 % - for indicators close to 10%, 1.5% - for indicators close to 5%.
