Survey: Majority of Ukrainians Support EU Accession
The publication was prepared by Ukraine2EU specialists and can also be found on the website: https://ukraine2eu.eu/survey-majority-of-ukrainians-support-eu-accession/ 70% of Ukrainians would vote in favour of EU membership if a referendum were held. This is according to the analytical report “Opinions and Views of the Population of Ukraine on European Integration”, prepared by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the request of the Ukraine2EU programme and in cooperation with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. The survey was conducted in May-June 2026. Support has remained stable within the 68-72% range since 2022. At the same time, 30% of Ukrainians are strong supporters of accession, while another 32% are moderate supporters (those who say they support accession “rather strongly”).
Among the expected benefits, respondents cite wage growth, freedom of movement, and alignment of legislation with EU standards. Key concerns include price increases, outflow of skilled workers, and additional costs for businesses.
