KIIS conducted a survey regarding public opinion of residents of the electoral district 65 during the period of September 1–21, 2012. The district includes following areas: the City of Novograd-Volynsk, Novograd-Volynskiy, Baranowski, Emilchinsky and Chervonoarmiis'kyi areas of Zhytomyr region. 810 respondents aged 18 years were interviewed face-to-face. To conduct a proper survey there was developed and designed a stratified, three-stage random sample with quota selection of respondents at the last step.

Statistical sampling error (with probability 0.95, excluding design-effect) is less than 3.6% — for figures close to 50%, 3.1% — figures close to 25% and 75%, 2.3% — figures that are close to 12 % and 88%, 1.6% — figures close to 5% and 95%, 0.8% — figures that are close to 1% and 99%.

If the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place in the first half of September, the following parties would get the biggest number of votes according to their party members lists in this district: Political Party "Batkivschyna" (13%), Party of Regions (13%) and "Udar" headed by Vitaliy Klychko (11%). These parties would get approximately equal quantity of votes.

Over 51% plurality of voters would vote for the existing Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn. The second place would be taken by V. Frantsuz, who could be supported by 6% of voters. Each of the other candidates would receive even fewer votes.

As the results of the survey show, only V. Lytvyn is a well-known person among the population of the district: 97% of the population know him. V. Frantsuz is not as well-known as V. Litvin, however, he is still quite famous: 44% of the population know him. The remaining candidates are known by no more than a quarter of the inhabitants of the district.

V. Lytvyn enjoys his high credibility among residents of the district. Among those who know him, 55% trust him, versus only 9% of those who do not trust him.

Among voters who support Ukrainian Nationwide Coalescing "Batkivschyna", only 30% intent to vote for the single candidate of the united opposition, V. Frantsuz; and 48% would give their voices to V. Lytvyn. We should note that the majority of those, who do not have established party orientations, or voters for the Party of Regions, or supporters of the party "UDAR" headed by V. Klychko or among lovers of the Communist Party of Ukraine, would vote for V. Lytvyn.
