How Ukrainians plan to spend their vacations

The study found that 68% of Ukrainians do not plan to have vacation; this number has increased slightly in comparison with 2011 (66%); number of those who have no expenses to go somewhere is 21%. In 2011 this number was 23%, the difference is statistically insignificant.

Attitude of Ukrainians towards national holidays

The least popular Ukrainian official holidays – Independence Day of Ukraine (12%), Labor Day (10%) and Constitution Day (4%).

Ukrainians’ thoughts on control of deputies and officials corruptness

The vast majority of respondents (88.2%) agree that the laws against corruption in Ukraine are not effective since they are approved by the Verkhovna Rada, ie by deputies who are to be controlled by these laws as well. Also 65.5% of respondents totally agree with the above and 22.7% of respondents are likely to agree.

Public thoughts on political parties orientations: oppositional and governing

It was difficult for respondents to identify the orientation of following parties:

Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko - 70% of respondents could not answer the question (34% of them believe that the party does not support any government or opposition, while for 36% of respondents it was difficult to determine their position)

Our Ukraine 59% of respondents (31% of them said that the party does not support any government or opposition, and for 28% it was difficult to determine)

Communist Party of Ukraine - 56% (of which 34% said that the party does not support any government or opposition, while for 22% it was difficult to determine)

Party of N.Korolevska "Ukraine, go ahead!" - 55% (of which 25% said that the party does not support any government or opposition, while 30% could not determine their position)

Dynamics of relationships between Ukraine and Russia

Following the schedule of joint project of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) and the Levada Center (Russia), KIIS has conducted a nationwide opinion poll regarding attitude of Ukrainians towards Russia and attitude of Russia towards Ukrainian population, which was held during the period of February 8–17, 2013. 2032 respondents were interviewed; the investigation covered all regions of Ukraine, including Kiev and Crimea Region; the sample was random and is deemed to be representative for population of Ukraine aged 18 and above.
